Koei-Tecmo’s Japanese-style hunting game “Toukiden 2” was released on 28th of July for PS4, PS3, and PS Vita. In this new title, players utilize special powers known as “mononofu” in never-ending battles against demons. For the first time, ω-Force presents an open world system, and also brings us a new ability “demon hand” that adds a whole new dimension to this action-packed game.
New updates (version 1.01 and 1.02) have been lined up following the game release, and brings new DLC to the game. The DLC available on release mainly features costumes, and the August DLC will bring new missions to the game.

- Mission completion time indicator :
Upon clearing a mission, you will be informed of time taken to clear the mission.
- Improved loading times for events :
Loading times for some events shortened.
Fixed bugs
- Bug that causes entering the headquarters at certain times to freeze the game. (PS4/PS3)
- Bug with Shin no Aratamafuri’s “zanei” :
Shin no Aratamafuri’s “zanei” shadow clones attack causes more hits than they should. This has been fixed.
- Adjustment of effect of skill “Kuuchuu sappou” :
Skill “Kuuchuu sappou” effect has been adjusted to not cause any consumption of stamina when performing a dodge during an air dash, as well as reduced consumption of stamina for air dashes.

Allows DLCs to be used. Several DLCs require this version, so make sure to download this patch after getting your DLCs.
Fixed bugs
- Bug that causes character to become incapable of movement upon receiving “Style shinan yu” or “Style shinan ken” :
This bug has been removed. If bug persists after update, loading saved data after the bug occurs should resolve the problem.

Toukiden’s 2 is finally out. As one of the faces of the monster hunting genre, this game has been quite highly anticipated. Within its first few days, more than 100,000 copies were already sold.
Right off release, several bugs were fixed, but more are bound to be discovered and patched in future updates. Also, there’s the usual paid DLC costumes. Koei Tecmo is notorious for this, especially for the Dead or Alive games.
For those who have yet to get the game, the Japanese PSN store has a free demo that allows you to play most of the first chapter. The demo took me 8 hours to finish and left me wanting for much more. The demo save data carries over to the main game.
